Non-Profit Mobile Chiropractor: Making a Difference for Service Industry Workers

Dr. Susie Hansen founded the Essential Project, a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to delivering mobile chiropractic services in Vail, Colorado. The mission of the Essential Project is to provide chiropractic care through mobile services to essential community members. Dr. Hansen brings her services directly to her patient’s workplaces, homes, and hotels, making chiropractic care accessible and convenient for all who need it.

I was fortunate enough to be recommended to Dr. Hansen by the Grand Hyatt in Vail, Colorado, when I was unable to walk, let alone ski, during my visit. In just one hour, Dr. Hansen provided various techniques including muscle manipulation, adjustment, exercises, Graston, cupping, and needling. Her bright sense of humor makes her visits something to look forward to and I eagerly scheduled another appointment within my seven-day stay. My husband was so impressed he managed to squeeze an appointment in as well. Thanks to her exceptional care, I was able to ski for four days, which was nothing short of remarkable, given that I was limping through the airport and struggling to sit comfortably on a flight due to pain. Without the burden of a steep $200 consultation fee or the need for an x-ray, she adeptly identified and remedied the issues at hand. Dr. Hansen’s services far exceeded my expectations and provided remarkable results. I even asked her for an impromptu video, which you can view here:

Dr Hansen’s long-term goal is to expand nationally. if you would like to support her non-profit, learn more and/or schedule an appointment with Dr. Hansen she can be reached by email at susan@theessentialproject.org or by phone: 520-220-8972

SHORT FILM EXPLORES RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND DIVERSITY

COLONIAL NEWPORT PROVES CRITICAL IN SETTING TONE OF TOLERNACE FOR A YOUNG AMERICA

Newport, RI. | November 2, 2022

Unknown to many, colonial Newport was home to America’s first Synagogue. That simple fact, and the social and civic leaders who made it a reality are the subject of a new short film, “Pathways to Understanding.”

Sponsored by the Touro Synagogue Foundation and produced by Newport Living & Lifestyles CEO, Christon Gibson, the film informs teachers, mentors, community leaders, and other interested adults to learn about this period in American History.

The film, developed for middle school students, premiered on Wednesday, November 2, at the Jane Pickens Film & Event Center, 49 Touro St. in Newport, RI. A moderated discussion followed and Charter Books had a table in the lobby for young adults buy books that reflect different voices and religions. The stories, mostly fiction, emphasize overcoming adversity, the strength of character, and positivity. The event was free and open to the public.

A new Touro Synagogue Foundation program for middle school students. The film is the first step for students, educators, parents, and civic organizations to better understand the history of religious freedom, diversity, and dialogue in colonial times and today and to set the stage for an upcoming middle school symposium. When on-site, in person, students will have an opportunity to participate in a highly interactive learning experience, engage in personal reflection, and practice critical thinking. Funding for the project was provided by the Rhode Island Foundation.

Historic Clarke Cook House origin

Sea-captain Clarke Cooke built the original house just across from the wharfs on Thames Street in 1780. Nearly 200 years later, as part of a plan to restore Bannister’s Wharf to its original glory as a commercial hub, David Ray purchased the building and spent six months moving it, piece-by-piece, to the wharf in 1973.

Deborah Goodrich Royce does it all; Hotelier, Actress, Author

Her new book bravely draws on personal tragedy to redefine the idea of “Identity Thriller”.

A first glance there is nothing about Deborah Goodrich Royce that would belie the colorful and varied tapestry she has woven from her life’s experiences.

As an owner–along with her husband–of one of the country’s most famed seaside resorts, Rhode Island’s “Ocean House” her normal day is already full.  Today she breezes through the lobby in a light blue and white sundress casually greeting staff and club members prior to sitting down for our interview.  Perhaps most noticeable as we take our seats in the Veuve Clicquot “Secret Garden,” is her utter lack of pretention and a sense that she has the world-her world-perfectly under control.

The new book, “Reef Road” draws upon the calm outward exterior that she exudes and delves into a world inspired by personal, traumatic events.  In it, she has created a detailed, layered work of fiction that will have readers griping their seats. Amazon says: “In a nod to the true crime that inspired it, Deborah Goodrich Royce’s Reef Road probes unhealed generational scars in a wrenching and original work of fiction. It is both stunning and sexy and, like a bystander surprised by a curtain left open, you won’t be able to look away.

I had the pleasure of spending nearly and hour speaking with Deborah on the hotel deck with expansive views of the Atlantic and passing rain showers creating a unique and mysterious mood suitable for discussing a murder mystery.  In that brief time, she impressed me not only with the depth and candor of the personal elements she brings to the book but her deep and thorough understanding of the craft of authorship. Her energy is ever present and she is especially animated when she speaks of her life, travels and most of all her family.

The entire interview is a “must see”
