We got the GRANDE tour at The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection. It has an entirely new feel. Elegant and dapper with floor to ceiling navy blue in sportsman style. The former mansion built by Alfred Vanderbilt is filled with new and vintage furnishings, custom hand-drawn wallpaper with a modern pop.The property also debuted a new gastronomy and mixology program: a fully reconceptualized signature restaurant, The Dining Room, alongside new menus and eye-catching designs at the resort’s three additional dining destinations; The Conservatory, The Garden, The Roof Deck with views of downtown and the bay.The renovations by SWOON are a must see. It is quickly becoming a vibrant social hub for Newport and is walking distance to downtown.

Who doesn’t love a good themed festivity. Lively in spirit guests were encouraged to dress in character with scenes from the the manger nativity scene. With good humor, characters showed as the Three Wise Men, North Star, Shepherds, Angels, Elves, Lambs and more. The party was catered by McGraths Clambake and the host served a delicious holiday tequila coconut margarita with sprigs of cranberry. Cheers to the new year! ✨

All things cosmic three card tarot & spirit animal reading presented by Bridgette Soby & Christon A. Gibson What a cosmic transforming evening with Patti McGarrahan and Larry Lastra of The Mindz Eye ! Wow! Hands down impressive. The evening was limited to 20 people and every single person was offered 2 readings during dinner, one three card tarot and then an animal reading. The Clarke Cook House hosted us in the private 12 Meter Room on the top floor. The powers that be supplied a personalized menu and bespoke cosmic cosmo cocktail with pearlized swirls and star straws. The very talented and professional event photographer Qui Lawhon of The Cocoa & Co captured the evening in all of its intense splendor. We were talking about our readings for days if not months.

Blue and White Micro Fundraiser sunset dinner success for Program Director Nichole Lewis of Aquidneck Island Mentoring a division or Mentor Rhode Island at Goat Island Marina hosted by President Christon A. Gibson of Newport Living and Lifestyles and Liz Reilly of The Newport Society Club raising over $1500 with a limited 40 locals with high end donations from local businesses listed below.
“Micro” fundraising, a term coined by Christon Gibson, is unique and sustainable, as all large fundraising events for charitable causes have been shut down for 2020. Many local nonprofits are struggling to survive and with children being vulnerable to their environment and a major at risk sector of the population due to COVID, Christon believes that drawing attention to organizations that support the wellbeing of children is imperative. This is where we need to place our focus.
A portion of the proceeds benefited MentorRI.
MENTOR Rhode Island is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the expansion of quality mentoring services for Rhode Island youth. Their mission is to ensure youth have access to the motivational and supportive relationships they need to grow into confident, successful adults.
