The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County will host its signature fundraiser, the tenth annual Newport Yacht Rendezvous, which will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard. This will be an extraordinary evening featuring a Super Yacht Hop, dinner, and dancing.
All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Newport County.
Please join us as we congratulate the first graduating class of TeamFAME students!
The Sunset Slam consists of tennis on the historic grass courts, a cocktail reception featuring a TeamFAME doubles exhibition, followed by dinner and awards on the Horseshoe Piazza.
In the midst of a global pandemic, TeamFAME continues to adapt to serve an already vulnerable population and serves as a life-changing opportunity for under-resourced kids. One-on-one tutoring, tennis programs, social and emotional lessons, and enrichment activities kept these children, who are in great need, active, engaged and growing in their love of tennis and the character benefits it fosters. Summer and after-school programs have continued to operate with almost no interruption.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS
After-School Program
During the 2021-2022 school year, the Canfield House continued to serve as our learning facility. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, 7th and 8th graders attended our after-school program in addition to 5th and 6th graders attending after school on Thursdays and Fridays. Our program has expanded from last year and the collaborative effort between TeamFAME staff and the families continue to keep kids active, engaged, and growing in their love of tennis and the character benefits it fosters This after-school program included meals, tennis instruction, homework support and enrichment activities.
Summer Program
The summer of 2022 will encompass 7-week sessions including mornings with a new group of rising 5th grade students and the afternoons with rising 5th – 9th grade students. Campers are provided meals, tennis instruction, enrichment activities and field trips to various locations throughout RI. These opportunities will provide a positive experience for our kids to grow and thrive.
