On Saturday, August 13, the Newport Art Museum’s campus will once again be transformed into the largest and most inclusive outdoor gallery in Rhode Island. Artists of every age and experience level are welcome to submit an original artwork to our silent auction.
All Wet Paint submissions (two piece limit per artist please) must be brought to the Art Museum between Friday, August 5 – Friday, August 12 and participating artist registration is required – please see registration link and artwork drop-off hours below. If you create your masterpiece anytime between August 5 and August 12, you’ll receive an official Wet Paint stamp on your submission, noting that your piece was made in the spirit of “Wet Paint,” i.e., made the day of the event.
Participating artists can decide to donate all proceeds from the sale of their piece to the Newport Art Museum, which will help support the Museum’s exhibitions, acquisitions and collection care, or opt to receive a percentage of the sale price. Please note: This applies to adult artwork that sells for $150 or more.
Wet Paint wouldn’t be possible without the hundreds of artists who so generously donate their time and talent to support our Museum. Thank you! Artists may submit up to TWO artworks in any medium. In the spirit of “Wet Paint,” we encourage you to submit art created “en plein air” or your most recent work. Artwork must be within the size limit of 3′ on the longest side.
